Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania: the Heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a romantic weekend, or a business meeting or convention, Lancaster County has what you're looking for. Luxury resort hotels, cozy B&B's, fine to family dining and everything in between, amusement parks, golf, the list goes on and on. Tour the Amish Country and enjoy folk arts, crafts, and recipes that haven't changed in centuries. Lancaster County is the Garden Spot of America, and FlavorFest brings our bounty center stage with special food events, trails and tours that feature each season's special harvest.

Part of Lancaster County's old-fashioned charm and homespun warmth stems from the Amish population -- the families, farmers and craftsmen who follow a deeply religious, family-centered lifestyle that has maintained this tradition through a simple way of life, that has not adopted the mainstream culture, yet has adapted in many necessary ways throughout the last 300 years.

Just the sight of covered bridges brings to mind thoughts of old charm and romance, and in Lancaster County, the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, there are plenty of both! While you're touring the bridges, be sure to travel via Lancaster County’s historic towns and villages, which exude unique charm of their own in streets lined with unique dining, lodging and shopping.
